James Carbone, CEO of The Wellness Corporation, founded the company in 1984 inspired by a belief in the power of the human spirit to effect positive change in each other. Our company's mission and culture is tied to supporting each other as human beings, and supporting causes that build a better world for all of us.
The Wellness Corporation offers pro-bono services to non-profit organizations and allows employees paid time off to work for a non-profit of their choice.
In 2003, James received “The Citizenship Award” from Clark University and The Worcester Business Journal in recognition of the work he has done.
The Wellness Corporation took an active role in assisting those in need in Concepcion, Guatemala. In 2004, The Wellness Corporation in conjunction with others built The Midwife Center for the Mayan Midwives of that region. Every year hundreds of people are given medical care that they would otherwise never receive. Our continued financial and logistical support is to ensure the health and prospering of these people and their culture.
In addition to our charitable endeavors in Guatemala, The Wellness Corporation staff hosts a “Giving Tree” at Christmas time each year, personally purchasing and providing gifts for the neediest children in the community.
In 2010 James was recognized as an “American Red Cross Hero” for his work in Guatemala.
